I was born in London in 1965 and I think I first caught the drawing bug after a visit to the Natural History Musuem in London. I was probably about 6 or 7 years old and mad on dinosaurs, as soon as I got home I couldn't wait to get cracking with my T-Rex drawings.
Although we lived in North London we were lucky enough to have Epping Forest only a few miles away.Epping Forest is a large area of royaly protected oak woodland and I used to spend many days at the weekends with my family, birdwatching,my other great love, and generally enjoying the countryside.
At this time I was concentrating on birds as my drawing and painting subject and I was quite happy to keep my artwork as a hobby and never had any intention of it being anything more than that. With work and other life commitments art took a very distant back seat, regrettably.Only on very rare occasions did my pencil touch sketchpad.
Then in 2005 whilst surfing on the net I came across,by accident, the artwork of the great Robert Bateman and was blown away by what I saw and was immediately inspired to pick up my pencil and paint brush.I have been painting regularly ever since.
My love of animals has been there for as long as I can remember and I strive to paint wildlife as accurately as I can and I have been lucky enough to sell several of my original paintings.I would like to think that one day,in the not too distant future, I will be able to fulfill my dream and become a full time wildlife artist.
